Efit Released Following Sittingbourne Burglary‏

Kent Police officers, investigating a suspected burglary in Standen Grove, Sittingbourne, have released a computer-generated image of a man they would like to speak to.

The victim left his home at about 7.50pm on Saturday 20th September and when he returned about 20 minutes later he discovered his car had been stolen from the driveway.

Human Remains Found In Murston

Kent Police have confirmed that they were called just after 2pm this afternoon following the discovery of human remains in the Tonge Road / Lomas Road area of Murston.

It is believed that the discovery was made by contractors clearing hedges in the area.

Kent Police have tonight confirmed that forensic officers have attended the area concerned "and investigations are ongoing to establish how long it has been there and possible identification".

Efit Issued After August Lower Halstow Assault

Detectives, investigating a report of an assault in Lower Halstow in August, have released an efit image of a man they would like to speak to.

A 17-year-old boy from Maidstone suffered serious injuries in the incident which happened at around 2.30am on Tuesday 5th August in Breach Lane. It was reported that the victim had attended a party and when he was outside, he was approached by three men. Following a brief dispute, a fight broke out and the boy suffered a suspected stab wound. He was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance to be treated for his injuries.

CCTV Image Released After Sittingbourne Incident

Detectives are investigating an alleged grievous bodily harm incident in Sittingbourne and have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to talk to in connection with the incident.

It is reported that a man in his 20s received serious injuries after being punched in the head by an unknown man, who was part of a group of people. The victim had been walking along High Street in Sittingbourne, in the direction of Rainham, when the incident occurred, at around 2am on Sunday 27th July.

Kent Police Receives 100 New Cuddly Recruits

Kent Police has taken on 100 new cuddly recruits thanks to a generous donation by the Swale Knit and Natter Group.

Police Constable Darren Chapman visited members of the group in Sittingbourne on Wednesday 27th August to receive the new cuddly toys, which will be used under the Roads Policing Unit's Trauma Teddies scheme.

All traffic vehicles now carry the Trauma Teddies which are given to youngsters up to the age of six when they are trapped in a vehicle or involved in a collision either as a passenger or pedestrian.

Teenagers Charged With Sittingbourne Burglaries

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with burglaries in Sittingbourne.

The pair - a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both from Orpington - were arrested after officers, investigating a reported burglary at an address in Jacinth Drive, located a suspicious vehicle on the A249 at around 12.50am on Thursday 21st August.

Patrols stopped the vehicle on the M2 London-bound and arrested both boys.

Man Arrested In Sheppey Arson Investigation

Kent Police detectives have arrested a man in connection with a number of reported arsons across the Isle of Sheppey.

In a pre-planned operation, officers executed a warrant in Queens Road, Minster-On-Sea and arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of arson, who remains in police custody.

Detectives are investigating farm fires on Lower Road in Minster on Friday 1st August and Queenborough Road in Queenborough on Sunday 17th August. Officers remain at the scene at a blaze in Elm Lane, Minster, reported at around 1.25am earlier today (Friday 22nd August).

Rural Officers Offer Crime Prevention Advice

Dozens of Kent Police officers, PCSOs and council wardens joined forces for a special day of action to prevent and detect crime in the rural areas around Sittingbourne recently.

In the latest of Kent Police's 'Operation Nonagon' initiatives, Police and Kent County Council staff patrolled Faversham and many of the surrounding villages. In the course of their duties on Wednesday 23rd July the team apprehended suspected burglars, seized suspected stolen property and issued crime prevention advice to local residents.

"Local" Safe Recovered From The River Thames

Kent Police are appealing for information after a safe was recovered from the River Thames at Greenhithe.

At 8.09am on Sunday (27th July) officers received a report that two men had been witnessed throwing a safe over the seawall into the river at Sara Crescent.

The safe was recovered later that day at Denton Wharf by a specialist team. It appeared as though it had been damaged. Inside there was a set of digital scales and some other objects too water-damaged to be identified.
