Large Industrial Estate Fire In Hartlip

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a large fire at an industrial site in Hartlip overnight.

Control operators sent eight fire engines to the scene in Matts Hill Road following the call at 10:44pm last night (Thursday 19th March) and they were joined by a bulk water carrier and the technical rescue unit.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus worked hard to extinguish the blaze using main jets and hose reel jets until 2:44am this morning.

Five vehicles, two industrial cabins and a large storage container were destroyed by the fire and another vehicle and two industrial units were damaged by heat.

No injuries were reported and the KFRS has confirmed that "the cause is not yet known" to  SFM News.
