Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Keycol Hill during yesterday (29th July) afternoon's rush hour.

A man riding a blue bicycle was involved in a collision with a white lorry on the A2 Key Street roundabout at the bottom of Keycol Hill at around 3.45pm.

The cyclist was flown by the Kent Air Ambulance to a London hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The speed limit on the Sheppey Crossing was lowered from 70mph to 50mph from 10.00am this morning (Wednesday 22nd July).

The "emergency" speed cut follows a pre-inquest review in to the deaths of Deborah Roberts and her 8-year-old son Marshall on the crossing last July.

Mid Kent and Medway Coroner, Patricia Harding wrote to Highways England urging them to take immediate action.

Two men, who robbed a pizza outlet in Chatham, have been jailed for a total of over seven years.

On Thursday 28th August 2014 two men entered the outlet on Chatham Hill in Chatham and left with a total of £180, having threatened staff with a knife and wooden bat.

Five days later the outlet was robbed again, with the offenders threatening to stab staff, but left empty-handed.

Kent Police VHave confirmed to SFM News that they have arrested a person following a series of fires in Maidstone overnight.

A 22-year-old local man was taken into custody following fires that caused significant damage to town centre businesses and also to cars parked in residential roads.

A 17-year-old, who assaulted two teenage boys and stole their mobile phones in the space of five minutes, has pleaded guilty to robbery.

At about 8.15am on Thursday 7th May, a 13-year-old boy was walking to school along St John's Avenue in Sittingbourne when he was approached by two older boys. They asked him the time and after taking out his iPhone 5 to help them out, the victim was held in a headlock and his mobile phone taken.

Kent Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a Sittingbourne man who has been reported as missing.

59-year-old Alan Bailey (pictured above) was last seen in the shopping precinct in Rainham on Tuesday afternoon (5th May) when he was wearing a black beanie hat, a jumper and light brown shoes.

He is described as white with grey hair and a full beard. Mr Bailey is a smoker and may have been smoking roll-up cigarettes.

Police officers, investigating a reported approach of a woman in a Sittingbourne car park, have today released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Officers investigating burglaries and shopliftings in the Sittingbourne area have made a series of arrests over the last few days.

Police executed warrants and carried out proactive searches yesterday (Tuesday 7th April) following a number of reports of thefts from shops across the borough. The shopliftings relate to three reports at Co-op in Murston, one at Tesco in Canterbury Road, Sittingbourne and one at the Wilkinson store on the High Street in Sittingbourne.

Kent Police are appealing for information after a man was left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision on the A249.

At around 10.20pm last night (Friday 3rd April) a black Chevrolet Lacetti and a green Volkswagon Bora came into collision with a pedestrian in the Londonbound carriageway of the A249 at the slip road for the B2005.

The pedestrian, in his 20s, was taken to a London hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives investigating a reported sexual assault in Sittingbourne have issued an e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Police received reports that at about 2.15pm on Monday 16th March that a woman was putting her rubbish out in Onyx Drive was approached by a man. The victim had walked along a footpath to a nearby bin store. When she had finished in the store, she turned to leave when she was met by a man standing in the doorway.
