27 Pregnant Sheep Killed After Dog Attack

Kent Police are seeking witnesses after 27 sheep were found dead following a dog attack in a field near Sittingbourne.

The ewes, who were all believed to be pregnant, were attacked between Christmas Eve and 1pm on Boxing Day. It happened at a location near Deerton Street, Teynham. It has been reported that barking was heard in the area between 4pm and 5pm on Christmas Day.

Drunk Van Driver Jailed After Schoolgirl Killed

A drunk van driver, who ploughed into a car and killed a schoolgirl in Bobbing, has been jailed for seven years.

Benjamin Henley was more than two and a half times over the drink drive limit when he collided with a black Audi which had broken down on a slip road on the A249 on Wednesday 24th October 2018.

Henley, 45, of Illustrious Close, Chatham, failed to spot the Audi before he collided with it at around 11.50pm.

Georgia Mann, who was 15 and from Sittingbourne, was taken to a London hospital where she died on the morning of Friday 26 October.

Officers from Kent Police's Rural Task Force are appealing for information after a barn owl was shot and killed in Leysdown.

The wild animal was taken to a rescue sanctuary on Tuesday (10th April) evening at around 7.30pm after a man and a woman reported finding the bird injured.

The animal had been shot through the chest with what was believed to be an air weapon and died the following day.

Officers would like to talk to the man and woman who found the bird as they believe they may have information which may assist them.

The family of a man, who was killed in a road traffic collision in Queenborough on Sheppey, have described him as a 'proud father and family man'.

Harry Richard Higgins, of Hillside Road in Queenborough, died after he was involved in a road traffic collision in Main Road on Saturday (25th January) .

Wife Pays Tribute To Man Killed In Shooting

A man killed following a shooting near Sittingbourne has been named as 56 year-old Steven Langley, a former Kent Firefighter.

Mr Langley died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen in Tonge on Friday afternoon (29th November), during an incident which Kent Police officers are now treating as a murder investigation.

Kent Police had initially been called at 2.45pm to reports that a man had been wounded in Lower Road. Mr Langley was pronounced dead at the scene.
