Witnesses Sought Following M2 Fatal Collision

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the M2 near Medway earlier this afternoon (Tuesday 8th October).

Officers were called to the coastbound carriageway of the motorway, near the services between junctions 4 (Gillingham) and 5 (Sittingbourne), at 1.36pm where a collision had taken place involving a white lorry and grey BMW estate car.

A man aged in his 20s sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Two people were taken to hospital following the accident between Junctions 5 (Sittingbourne) and 6 (Faversham) overnight.

Kent Police confirmed that they were called at 9.47pm last night (Thursday 6th June) following a report of a single-vehicle crash. It's believed that an off-duty doctor and an off-duty police officer helped at the scene of the accident where two people were trapped and had to be freed by the Kent Fire & Rescue Service.

They were then taken to hospital by the South east Coast Ambulance Service.

Three Vehicle Collision Closes M2 Motorway

Firefighters helped to release a man who was trapped in a van following a crash involving a car and two vans on the coast-bound carriageway of the M2 earlier today.

The collision happened just before Junction 5 for the A249 and Sittingbourne at around 9:15am.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the man, who was then passed into the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Collison investigators are appealing for witnesses following a fatal incident on the A249 Detling Hill earlier today (Thursday 13th September).

Kent Police were called at 6.25am this morning after a red Yamaha motorcycle and a grey Renault people carrier collided on the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway.

Police officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended and sadly the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, died at the scene. His next of kin have been made aware.

A teenager who killed his friend while speeding in a pickup truck has been jailed for four years.

Kieran Simpson, 18, of Gladwyn Road, Rainham, was jailed on Friday (16th March) by a judge at Maidstone Crown Court.

He was sentenced to four years in jail after pleading guilty to one count of causing death by dangerous driving after his friend died in a collision on the A2 on London Road in Newington.

Family Issue Tribute To Collision Victim

The family of a 30-year-old man who was killed in a collision in Sittingbourne have issued a tribute.

Emergency services were called to attend an incident at around 11.25pm on Saturday 10th March in St Michael's Road which involved a man and a lorry.

Tom Field, who was a scientist and from Sittingbourne, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His Mum, Dad, brother James and Tom's fiancée Chloé have issued the following tribute.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for witnesses following the death of a pedestrian close to Sittingbourne train station at the weekend.

Police were called at around 11.25pm on Saturday (10th March) to reports of a collision involving a lorry, on St Michael's Road. Police and ambulance crews attended and a man was declared dead at the scene.

Officers from the SCIU would now like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the pedestrian or lorry beforehand.

Witness Appeal Following Iwade Collision

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Iwade last night (Sunday 10th December).

A red and white Kawasaki motorbike was travelling along Ferry Road at around 7.55pm when it was in collision with a blue Mercedes A160 travelling in the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Licensed Taxi In Town Centre Collision

A licensed taxi, believed to have been carrying a fare-paying passenger at the time, has been involved in an accident on The Avenue Of Remembrance.

The incident happened shortly after 11.30am this morning (Wednesday 25th January) between the junctions of Central Avenue and Albany Road, near the side entrance of Sittingbourne Police Station.

The taxi is believed to have collided with another vehicle resulting in it hitting a tree on the side of the carriageway.

It's believed that there were no serious injuries and that a police investigation was underway.

Man Jailed For Seven Years For Fatal Teynham Collision

A dangerous and unlicensed driver, who caused the deaths of two men in a New Year's Day collision on Friday 1st January this year (2016), has been jailed for seven years.

One other passenger in Ashley Howard's car suffered serious injuries when it crashed into the Jubilee Pump monument and overturned in a garden off London Road, Teynham, in the early hours of the first day of 2016.

Howard, 23, of Quarry View on the Isle of Wight, spent more than two months in hospital himself following the collision.
