Woman Freed From Crash On The A249

The Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A249 Maidstone-bound carriageway between Stockbury and Keycol at Danaway. just before 9.00pm last night (Thursday 17th March).

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of the car to release one female occupant, so that she could be cared for by the attending ambulance.

Family Names Woman Who Died In Teynham Collision

The woman who died in a fatal road traffic collision in Teynham yesterday (Saturday 13th February) has been named by her family.

Barbara Phipps, aged 73, of Lynsted, died when the bicycle she was riding was in collision with an HGV on the A2 London Road.

Kent Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at 10.15am yesterday morning.

Firefighters had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to help release a woman earlier this evening (Thursday 14th January) who was trapped following a crash on the M2 coast-bound between junctions 1 (Rochester, Gillingham and Grain) and 2 (Strood).

Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) were called at 19.09hrs to the scene. The driver was removed from the vehicle and passed in to the care of the South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Motorway traffic was not disrubted during the incident due to the time of day.

The Kent Fire And Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to an accident between junctions 5 (A249 Sittingbourne) and 6 (A251 Ashford/Faversham) of the M2 shortly after 12 noon today.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car in order to release a woman who was trapped by her injuries inside.

Kent Police are appealing for information after a disabled woman was robbed of her walking frame on the Isle of Sheppey.

At around 9.15am on Saturday (12th July) the victim - a woman in her 60s - was at a bus stop on Minster Road when two men holding cans of lager walked up to her. They then went on to make derogatory comments to her about her disability and as they walked past, one reached out and punched her on the arm, causing her to fall over.

A drug addict who stole a purse from a disabled woman under the guise of helping her has been jailed for 21 months.

Matthew Beaney, of no fixed address, was imprisoned by a judge at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday (11th June). The 29 year old had pleaded guilty to one count of theft.

A Sittingbourne woman has been jailed for 18 months after admitting stealing almost £200,000 from her employers over five years.

Karen Tracey Knowles, of Ferry Road in Iwade, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday 13th February after pleading guilty to fraud by misrepresentation.
