Three People Rescued From Flood Water In Faversham

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of three people stranded in flood water on North Lane in Faversham earlier today (Tuesday 4th January).

Three fire engines were sent to the scene at around 1:30pm and when crews arrived they were found stranded within two separate vehicles.

Firefighters wearing dry suits entered the water to rescue the occupants and lead them to safety.

The public are being advised to avoid any roads that are flooded, and to take extra care by following a few simple steps:

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a vehicle containing two people stranded in flood water on Raspberry Hill Lane in Iwade earlier today.

Two fire engines and a water safety unit were sent to the scene at approximately 13:30hrs and, when crews arrived, one occupant had climbed onto the roof of the vehicle. Firefighters in dry suits entered the water to rescue the two people and lead them to safety, before passing them into the care of South East Coast Ambulance (SECAmb) paramedics. The public are currently being advised to avoid the road due to flooding.

Woman Rescued From M2 Accident

The Kent Fire And Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to an accident between junctions 5 (A249 Sittingbourne) and 6 (A251 Ashford/Faversham) of the M2 shortly after 12 noon today.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the car in order to release a woman who was trapped by her injuries inside.
