Further Suspect Charged In Murder Investigation

A further suspect has been charged by detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne last weekend.

Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm last Saturday (2nd August) evening  to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.

It was alleged that the pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased and collided with the vehicle near to the junction with Dover Street. Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed to be deceased.

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre at the weekend have arrested and charged two suspects with murder.

Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday (2nd August) evening to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.

It was reported the pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased, before colliding with the vehicle near to the junction with Dover Street.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

Detectives are investigating following the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre late Saturday (2nd August) night.

Police were called shortly after 9.30pm to a report of a collision involving a car and a man who had fallen from a wall into St Michael’s Road, near to the junction with Dover Street.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

Appeal For Witnesses Following "Dangerous Driving"

Local Police officers, investigating allegations of dangerous driving, are appealing for witnesses.

Kent Police were called at 8.45pm last night (Friday 6th October) to a report of a van driving dangerously in St Michael’s Road, Sittingbourne.

Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, where a local man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Witness Appeal After Assault In Sittingbourne

Kent Police are appealling for information following the report of a motorist being assaulted by a jogger in Sittingbourne yesterday (Tuesday 29th September) afternoon.

An altercation between the pair is reported to have taken place following a collision on St Michael’s Road at around 5.20pm. During the incident, the runner is said to have opened the driver’s door and assaulted the victim, a man in his 50s. He sustained facial injuries which required treatment at a local hospital.

St Michael's Road Partially Re-Opened

The newly realigned A2 St Michael's Road, on to Milton Road, has re-opened in the centre of Sittingbourne.

Spirit Of Sittingbourne, the regeneration consortium, told SFM News that this "should improve traffic flow throughout the town centre. The remaining works on Dover Street will continue but are due to be completed next week. We can now begin construction of the leisure quarter, which will bring a host of high-quality leisure facilities to Sittingbourne, as part of the wider regeneration of the town".

Regeneration Road Closures Now In Place

The major roadworks, for the town centre regeneration, have commenced and will be in place until late September / early October.

The A2 St Michael's Road and B2008 Milton Road are partially closed for the next 17 weeks. The affected area on the A2 St Michael's Road is between the junction with Dover Street and Station Street.
