Detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre at the weekend have arrested and charged two suspects with murder.
Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday (2nd August) evening to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.
It was reported the pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased, before colliding with the vehicle near to the junction with Dover Street.
Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.
An investigation was launched and two suspects were arrested on Monday (4th August) and yesterday (Wednesday 6th August). Enquiries also led to a quantity of cocaine being seized.
Earlier today (Thursday 7th August), Jack Hunt of Platinum Way in Borden and Chris McClean of Pembury Court in Sittingbourne were charged with murder. Mr McClean, 43, was additionally charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Mr Hunt, 33, was remanded in custody to Medway Magistrates’ Court while Mr McClean was remanded to appear before Sevenoaks magistrates. Both men are due in court later today (7th August).
