Safety Advice Given To Train Commuters

Personal safety alarms have been given out to Sittingbourne commuters as part of a visit by Kent Police officers to Sittingbourne Train Station.

Sittingbourne’s Town Centre PCSO Gregory Cain, and Swale’s Crime Prevention PCSO Matt Tennant, set up a stand on Tuesday (9th November) to talk to commuters about their personal safety. They also gave out free personal alarms and anti-drink spiking bottle stoppers.

The initiative was supported by Swale Council’s Community Safety Partnership which helped to provide the items given to commuters.

Appeal After Sexual Assault On HS1 Train

Detectives from British Transport Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted on an HS1 train to Ebbsfleet International.

The incident happened on 15th August last year and enquiries have been ongoing since the incident but officers are now releasing images of a man they would like to speak to, as he may have information which could help the investigation.

Police Appeal After £3,300 Ring Stolen From Train

British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after a platinum diamond wedding band valued at £3,300 was stolen from the 6.57am Canterbury East to Faversham train on Wednesday 27th July.

A woman took off her ring to moisturise her hands leaving it on a train seat next to her. After disembarking the train at Faversham she returned to her seat with train staff but the ring could not be found.

Police are appealing for information from people who may recognise the man in the CCTV image as he may have information which could help with their investigation.
