Sittingbourne Man Injured In Medway Acid Attack

An assistant head teacher from Sittingbourne said he thought he "was going to die" after a substance, believed to be acid, was thrown in his face during an assault outside a Medway pub at the weekend.

Adam Tickner (pictured) is still recovering from the attack and says he feels "lucky to be alive".

Kent Police are investigating the assault with a corrosive substance, which happened in the garden area of The Ye Arrow pub on Boley Hill in Rochester at around 10.15pm on Saturday (13th September).

Witnesses Sought To M2 Collision

Dashcam footage and witnesses are sought following a collision on the M2 near Sittingbourne last month.

Kent Police was called just after 10.15am on Friday 29th August to a three-vehicle collision just before junction five for Stockbury, on the coastbound carriageway.

A heavy goods vehicle and two white Peugeot cars were involved in the incident.

Officers attended the scene alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service, where two people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.

Arrest Following Serious Assault

A suspect has been arrested following a report of a serious assault in Sittingbourne last night (Wednesday 27th August).

Patrols were called to Swale Borough Council's Swale House car park in East Street, shortly before 8pm following a report of the incident.

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where a woman was treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim, who is in her 40s, was taken to a London hospital for further medical attention and was subsequently discharged.

Three arrests have been made following the death of a man in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Isle of Sheppey last night (Sunday 10th August).

Kent Police were called to the Warden Bay Road area shortly after 7pm , where it was reported that an altercation broke out involving a small group of people and a man was assaulted, sustaining serious injuries.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 40s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

A further suspect has been charged by detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne last weekend.

Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm last Saturday (2nd August) evening  to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.

It was alleged that the pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased and collided with the vehicle near to the junction with Dover Street. Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed to be deceased.

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre at the weekend have arrested and charged two suspects with murder.

Kent Police were called shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday (2nd August) evening to a report of a collision involving a car and a man on St Michael’s Road.

It was reported the pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased, before colliding with the vehicle near to the junction with Dover Street.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

A catapult crackdown is in effect across the county as neighbourhood Kent Police officers continue to respond to residents’ concerns about anti-social behaviour (ASB).

Constables and Police Community Support Officers have been taking action to tackle the use of catapults to harm people and wildlife, or to cause criminal damage, by searching anyone suspected of doing so and seizing any items they find. Investigations are also being carried out into possible offences and those found responsible risk being arrested and brought before the courts.

Arrest Made And Suspected Stolen Goods Recovered

Patrols have arrested a man after air pods alleged to have been stolen from a car were tracked down in Sittingbourne.

The theft was reported by the victim after they found their car had been targeted in Pavilion Drive, Kemsley in the early hours of Tuesday (8th July) morning.

Enquiries led to the missing items being recovered by officers from a property less than a mile away two days later.

Appeal Following Damage To Vehicles

Kent Police officers are appealing for information after reports of criminal damage to several vehicles in Sittingbourne at the weekend.

The incidents happened in Denbigh Close, Middletune Avenue and Glenbrook Grove at around 3.30am on Saturday 28 June 2025. Victims contacted Kent Police after they found offensive messages had been scratched into the paintwork of their cars overnight. Some of the vehicles also had paint sprayed on them.
