Purse Thefts Reported In Sittingbourne

Local officers are seeking witnesses following reports of three purses being stolen in Sittingbourne town centre.

The thefts are thought to have taken place between 9am and 1pm last Tuesday (28th February).

The victims were allegedly targeted in separate incidents at two charity shops in The Forum Shopping Centre and Roman Square, and also a store in the High Street. The crimes were only discovered at a later stage when the victims realised their property was missing.

Witnesses are sought by officers investigating reports of concern for a woman in Sittingbourne.

On Saturday (4th July) Kent Police were called after a group of people were seen in Ridham Avenue, Sittingbourne, where they appeared to be arguing.

Two men are then believed to have assaulted a woman at around 4.12pm before leaving in a black Mazda with a silver trimming. It is believed the woman also left the scene with the men.

Both men were described as white and in their early 30s with short hair. They were tanned and both were wearing blue jeans without tops.

Kent Police are investigating a report of a robbery at Ufton Lane, Sittingbourne.

It is reported that around 9pm on Friday (7th October), a woman in her 30s was getting out of her car when a man threatened her demanding money.

It is reported that a quantity of cash was stolen.

The man is described as 5ft 8ins to 5ft 11ins with a foreign accent and wearing a dark hooded top with the hood pulled up, and a cream scarf across his face.

It is reported that he ran off towards Manor Grove.

Kent Police are appealing for information into the whereabouts of two children reported missing from their home in Sittingbourne.

Chelsea Abbott, nine, and Taylor Redding, 10, were reported missing at 12.40pm today (Thursday 31st March) but are believed to have left their house in the Grovehurst Avenue, Kemsley area at about 5am when their parents were asleep.

Officers are growing increasingly concerned for their welfare and are currently searching the local area.
