Crews Tackle Grass Fire in Iwade

People around the Raspberry Hill Lane area in Iwade were being advised to keep windows and doors closed earlier today (Tuesday 3rd June).

The earlier advice was issued due to a large amount of smoke coming from a grass fire, which crews believed was caused accidentally after embers spread from an out-of-control bonfire.

The Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) were called at 11:37am and three fire engines attended, as well as an all-terrain vehicle. Firefighters used beaters and portable water tanks to extinguish the flames and no injuries were reported.

The Kent Fire & Rescue Service (KFRS) were advising people in the Milton Regis area to keep all windows and doors closed on Saturday (31st May) afternoon, due to heavy smoke coming from a derelict house fire on Roberts Close. 

The KFRS were called at 3:35pm following reports of a blaze on the residential street.

Six fire engines attended the scene and crews, wearing breathing apparatus and using main jets to extinguish the flames until just after 4.10am in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire in a yard off High Street, Sittingbourne.

A call was received at 8:40 pm this evening (Thursday 11th April) and three fire engines were sent to the scene, and crews used hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish a fire involving mattresses and hedges.

It;s believe the affected area is close to the Albany Road Car Park near the rear of the Sittingbourne Baptist Church on the High Street. 

No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known.

Three fire engines were sent to the incident on Westmoreland Drive earlier today (Saturday 9th April) and crews arrived to flames from an upstairs bedroom.

Fire Crews Remain At Major Eurolink Blaze

Three fire engines remain at the scene of a large fire at a recycling plant on West Lane on The Eurolink Industrial Estate.

Crews are damping down any remaining hot spots while maintaining a watching brief.

No casualties have been reported and the cause is not yet known.

People who live or work in the Kemsley and Iwade areas are still advised to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution, due to smoke coming from the fire, which involved a large amount of household waste and recycling materials.

Fire Crews Tackle Upchurch Co-op Blaze

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to The Street in Upchurch shortly after 10.00pm last n ight (Monday 29th April), to reports of a fire in the Co-op supermarket.

Four fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and water from a hydrant to extinguish the fire on the ground floor.

People living in accommodation above the shop had to be evacuated the building.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is being investigated.

Fire Crews Tackled Kemsley Derelict Building Fire

Local Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) crews have been tackling a large fire on Grovehurst Road, Kemsley this evening (Friday 24th February) involving two portable buildings.

On arrival crews found the two buildings, used for storage, well alight.

At the high of the incident three fire engines were at the scene with firefighters using main jets to tackle the fire.

It is believed that the buildings were previously used as a pet food supplies store.
