Worker Dies On Warehouse Construction Site

A worker has died following an accident on Sittingbourne's Eurolink V Estate yesterday (Wednesday 21st January) morning at around 9:15am.

The man, in his 30s, was declared dead at the scene of a new logistics centre  which is being built for frozen food giant Cook Classic.

Fire Crews Remain At Major Eurolink Blaze

Three fire engines remain at the scene of a large fire at a recycling plant on West Lane on The Eurolink Industrial Estate.

Crews are damping down any remaining hot spots while maintaining a watching brief.

No casualties have been reported and the cause is not yet known.

People who live or work in the Kemsley and Iwade areas are still advised to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution, due to smoke coming from the fire, which involved a large amount of household waste and recycling materials.

'Suspicious' Fire At Sittingbourne Boxing Club

Kent Police officers are investigating a fire at an industrial unit in Sittingbourne overnight and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Kent Police received a report at 12.24am this morning (Thursday 16th March) that a car had been in collision with an industrial unit in Castle Road, Sittingbourne. The unit is currently used as the Rumble Boxing Academy.

Officers attended the scene where a car was found to be alight and crashed in to the unoccupied premises.
