Kent Police On County Line Crackdown

A week-long operation targeting county line drug dealing led to 47 people being arrested and more than £100,000 in cash being seized by Kent Police.

A total of 28 weapons including machetes, samurai swords, crossbows and knives were also recovered between Monday 2nd and Sunday 8th March. Of the 47 suspects arrested, 23 have since been charged with 63 separate offences.

During the proactive week, 40 separate addresses were searched, with officers making 29 drug seizures including heroin, crack cocaine, GHB, ketamine, steroids and methamphetamine.

Crackdown On Fly-Tipping And Illegal Waste Carriers

Waste carriers were targeted earlier this month (Thursday 5th February) as part of a new regular crackdown on fly-tipping in the borough. 

 Swale Borough Council teamed up with Kent Police’s Community Safety Unit (CSU) to tackle suspected fly-tipping, collect evidence, and take enforcement action for waste related crimes. 

Officers stopped and searched vehicles transporting waste, checking their paperwork, and gathering evidence for further investigation, including serial numbers of unlawfully transported car parts.

Swale Borough Council (SBC) have teamed up with Kent Police’s Rural Task Force to crack down on suspected fly-tipping on a day of action collecting evidence and taking enforcement action for waste related crimes.  
  
SBC have confirmed that 8 vehicles were stopped and searched and 4 Fixed Penalty Notices were issued.

Forty Drivers Issued Fines During Crackdown In Swale

Kent Police have confirmed that 40 drivers have received fines as part of their ongoing work to crack down on motorists committing offences in Swale.

On Saturday 12 August officers from Kent Police’s Special Constabulary spent time in Mill Way, Sittingbourne, where they stopped drivers. During the operation 47 offences were identified and robustly dealt with.

Crackdown On Swale Shoplifters

Shoplifters in Swale have been arrested as part of a crackdown in the run up to Christmas.

Officers have been focusing their foot patrols in Sittingbourne town centre to locate and deter offenders and as well as targeting shoplifters, the foot patrols are also being carried out to help deter people from committing offences of criminal damage, violence and theft from vehicles.
