A 14-year-old girl from Sittingbourne has been praised for her bravery after calling 999 when her younger brother collapsed earlier this year, in June.

Ruby-Louise was at home with her brother Tyler when he rapidly started to become unwell. She quickly alerted her parents and helped Tyler to sit down, aiding his head as he collapsed.

Swale Borough Council is supporting local organisations and community groups to host 27 events around the borough for Great Big Green Week.

Seventeen local organisations will be hosting a variety of events ranging from litter picks and webinars to art workshops and a giant whale installation circus to celebrate action on the climate and ecological emergency for the week-long event.
