Nominations are now open to recognise the contributions of community heroes here in Swale.

The Mayor’s Civic Award is asking for people to nominate hidden heroes who work to help others across the borough. 

Nominees can come from all ages and backgrounds; they just need to have made a difference to their local community and live in Swale.

The nominations are open until Tuesday 31st March and the winners will be selected by the Mayor of Swale, Cllr Karen Watson, and a panel of councillors.

A member of the 2nd Sittingbourne Guides is celebrating after receiving the highest accolade for Guides - the Baden-Powell Challenge Award.

Jade Dowsett, from Sittingbourne, chose to complete a range of exciting activities to achieve the award, including playing life-size Monopoly around Canterbury while away on her adventure weekend and Co-ordinating and presenting a fashion show with her fellow Guides.

The Julie Gamble Advanced Skin & Hair Removal Clinic, on the High Street here in Sittingbourne, is celebrating after attaining the prestigious 'Dermalogica Circle' award.

The award is designed to recognise and reward stockists of the Dermalogica brand for their commitment to training and clinical excellence within their business.
