Raybel - Fish Surveyor Training

Join volunteers working on the Fish of the Medway project, monitoring fish in salt marshes across the Medway estuary at Milton Creek. Run by the Living River Foundation the training day will include presentations on why the surveys are carried out, where and how surveying takes place. They will also include demonstrations of the nets and tools used to conduct the surveys. The Morning session will be about the project, sampling methods and safety factors and the afternoon session - practicing with nets and equipment. Practical clothing required and wellies recommended for the afternoon. Please take along your own lunch as it is not provided. Please be aware that you need to be comfortable handling live fish while surveying and all volunteers will be provided chest waders but should be fit and able (if you are able to climb a style) Volunteers MUST also be 18 or over.
