Faversham Xmas Lights Switch On and Market

The ancient town of Faversham, known as the "Market Town of Kings", with its wonderful overhanging buildings, spectacular Market place and ancient Guildhall, takes on a completely different look at Christmas time. From the last Saturday in November until 6th January each festive season the streets are zigzagged with several miles of cables carrying thousand's of brightly coloured bulbs, shop fronts are adorned with seasonal features and illuminated Christmas trees. The centrepiece each year is the market place with a huge tree dominating the square and strings of lights reaching from it in every direction.The extremely popular Lights Switch On will include a visit from Santa as well as some fabulous local food and drink stallsand is o rganised by Faversham Town Council ahd The Faversham Christmas Lights Committee.
