Centenary Of The Avenue Of Remembrance

On Remembrance Sunday, Sittingbourne will be marking the centenary  of the Avenue of Remembrance - Sittingbourne's living memorial. This year the parade, following the 10am service at St Michael's Church, will be led by historic military vehicles. It will go from Bell Road to the War Memorial in Central Avenue along the Avenue of Remembrance, where there will be a sentinel standing by each tree. Following the 11am two-minutes silence, 25 white doves will be released, representing the 25 parishes in the Sittingbourne area.
