Patrick Island and Sam Wise won the Swale Film Festival Award in 2008 while they were pupils at Borden Grammar School. Since then, Patrick has worked as an assistant on major films at Pinewood Studios, studied at the London Film School, and is now a producer for ITV! We are delighted to be showing two recent short films made by the pair, including the award winning drama ‘One in a Million’ about an autistic teenager who aims to win the lottery, shot in Herne Bay, and ‘The Director’, a satirical dark comedy about a ‘serious’ filmmaker’s desperate attempts to make a ‘serious’ documentary on homelessness.
