Local Remembrance Day Services 2016

Doddington and Newnham War Memorial: 15:00

This service will be taken by the Reverend Richard Birch and Councillor Ted Wilcox representing the Mayor, will attend and lay a wreath.

Church of St Peter and Paul, Borden: 09:45

The Parish Eucharist, followed by an Act of Remembranceat the War Memorial, will be taken by Reverend Cindy Kent. The Mayor will be represented by Councillor Nicholas Hampshire, who will attend and lay a wreath.

Church of St Bartholomew, Bobbing: 10:45

An informal service of Remembrance will be led by Rev Sue Samson, Team Curate for Holy Trinity Sittingbourne with Bobbing. Councillor Mike Dendor representating the Mayor, will attend and lay a wreath at the War Memorial inside the church.

Church of St Mary the Virign, Newington: 10:00

This service, followed by an Act of Remembrance at 11am, will be taken by Lay Reader Liz Willmet. The Mayor will be represented by Councillor Mike Baldock who will attend and lay a wreath.

Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Upchurch: 10:15

The Service of Remembrance will be taken by The Reverend Julian Staniforth and The Reverend Amanda Lane with an Act of Remembrance at 11am. Councillor Gerry Lewin, representing the Mayor, will attend and lay a wreath.

Church of St Michael and All Angels, Hartlip: 10:15

The Service of Remembrance will be taken by Lay Reader George Hulme. Councillor John Wright, representing the Mayor, will attend and lay a wreath.

St Margaret's Church, Lower Halstow: 10:30

This service will be taken by Mr Alan Swift with the Reverend Mark Ham. Councillor Ducan Dewar-Whalley, representing the Mayor, will attend the service, read a lesson and lay a wreath.

All Saints Church, Iwade: 10:45

This service, with an Act of Remembrance at 11am , will be led by Captain Stephen Plumb. The Mayor will be represented by Councillor Ben Stokes who will lay a wreath.

Holy Trinity Church, Milton Regis: 10:00

The service (from 10.00am) will be taken by the Reverend George Rogers. Councillor Roger Clark representing the Mayor, will attend. At the conclusion of the Service, he will lay a wreath at he memorial in the church grounds.

All Saints Church, Murston: 10:00

The Service of Remembrance will be taken by Mrs Dianne Smith. Councillor Samuel Koffie-Williams representing the Mayor, will attend the service and lay a wreath at the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial outside the church at 11am.

War Memorial, Central Avenue, Sittingbourne: 10:30 for 10:50 (assembled by 10:45)

The service will be led by Pat Tatchell, Chaplain to the Sittingbourne and Milton Brance of the Royal British Legion. The Mayor, Councillor Lesley Ingham, accompanied by Mayoral Cadet, Corporal Lauren Kingsnorth of 2316 (Sheppey) Squadron ATC will attend and lay a wreath. After the Service the Mayor, her Cadet and a representative from The Royal British Legion, with others in attendance, will take the Salute as the Parade marches past the front of the Police Station in Central Avenue.

St Giles Church, Tonge: 10:30

The service will be taken by Mrs Anne Holton ALM. Councillor Ghlin Whelan representing the Mayor will lay a wreath on the alter and read a lesson.

St Mary's Church, Teynham: 10:45

The service will be taken by The Reverend Steve Lillicrap. Councillor Lloyd Bowen representing the Mayor will lay a wreath on the alter and read a lesson.

St Laurence Church, Bapchild: 10:00 for 10:30

A Church Service will be taken by the Reverend Lesley Jones. Councillor Monique Bonney representing the Mayor, will lay a wreath on the altar and read a lesson.
