Police Appeal Following Schoolgirl Stabbing

Witnesses are being sought after a teenager was seriously assaulted in Sittingbourne yesterday (Friday 22nd March) afternoon.

Kent Police were called at around 3.55pm following a report of an assault on Adelaide Drive, Sittingbourne.

Officers attended the scene, with South East Coast Ambulance Service, and a teenage girl was taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent with a stab wound. She remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and remains in custody.

An investigation is ongoing and officers are urging anyone with information about the incident, including those with CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
