A woman has been arrested after a car left the carriageway at the top of Dolphin Road on the Eurolink Estate in Murston late Monday (10th August) night.
The vehicle hurtled through bushes and flew several feet through the air before smashing into the top floor of a house on Sunnybank, at the bottom of the safety embankment.
It's believed the female driver lost control of the vehicle, an Audi, just before the first width restrictor on Murston Road and neighbours were awoken up by the sound of “two booms” when it hit the terraced house.
The incident has caused significant damage to the house with a large hole at the back of the property, with broken roof tiles and guttering all visible along with a window hanging off.
This afternoon (12th August), Kent Police have confirmed that a 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. She remains in a stable condition in hospital after the accident.
In a statement Kent Police told SFM News: “Officers attended and two people who were inside the vehicle were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries. A third person, who was also inside the vehicle, did not require hospital treatment.”
It's believed that the family who live in the house were not home at the time.
Detectives say their inquiries continue and uniformed officers remain at the scene.
