Dr Martin Watts, from Canterbury Christ Church University, will be visiting the Sheppey Little Theatre to speak about the history of Chatham Royal Dockyard, and its pivotal influence upon the industrial revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries. The Dockyard is widely recognised as one of the most important industrial sites of the period, accelerating industrialisation and changing the landscape and nature of the Medway towns, enjoying a period as the most important naval base and yard in the British Isles.Advance tickets cost £6 and are available from Sheppy Glass (opposite Trinity Church Hall off The Broadway in Sheerness), during shop hours.
